BMW F 650 CS Scarver Grote beurt part 2So, 2 days ago I got my bike back after 4 days at the garage and I am impressed with the work carried out. All moving joints are oiled. New filters, new sparkplug, new engine oil, several bulbs and coolant replaced. They also gave me advice on what else needs work in the future such as the state of the brake shoes etc.. The cost was 270 euro which is well within the price I expected. |

BMW F 650 CS Scarver Grote beurtJust dropped of my F 650 CS for a grote beurt, ie. fluid, filter and sparkplug change. I left the bike Thursday afternoon as I have a vacation day Friday, that gives the garage all Friday and Saturday to service the bike. I have been told it might take until Tuesday to get the bike back which is really inconvenient as it's my work transport. I also called earlier in the week on the phone to check and was told if I dropped the bike off early I could get it back the same day in the evening. That seems to be untrue if it really is going to take 3 days. After 5 minutes of looking at the bike the guy said he needed to strip the rear brake, he said it's an extra 150 Euro not including parts. So the service had jumped from 250 Euro to about 450 Euro. I asked him not to touch the rear brake as I can do it myself. I can buy a whole used caliper off ebay for 30 Euro and refurb it for 20 euros in parts then sell the old one for the same price that I paid. First impressions: |
